What's the difference between continuous-run and cycle-sentry freight?
Continuous-run freight requires the reefer unit to run non-stop to hold a tight temperature range, common with produce and frozen goods. Cycle-sentry freight lets the unit cycle on and off to maintain temperature, common with less sensitive or palletized freight. Shippers specify which mode a load requires.
Do I need special certification to haul reefer freight?
No special CDL endorsement is required for standard reefer freight. Some pharma and food-grade lanes ask for a clean trailer wash-out record and food safety documentation under FSMA's Sanitary Transportation rule, which your dispatcher can help you track.
